Our Mission at CCCD
It is the mission of the Costilla County Conservancy District to act pursuant to its enabling legislation, with the purpose of recognizing the inherent value of waters, water interests, and water courses within the District.
We also promote the enhancement and efficiencies of existing water uses in a manner that benefits the community as a whole, recognizing that a flexible approach may be used to accomplish such goals and other tasks as permitted by statute.
About the Costilla County Conservancy District
Costilla County Conservancy District was formed by petition and Court order in 1976. The district was formed initially for Flood Control under Colorado Revised Statutes Title 37-101. Under this statute, and appointment the Conservancy District Board is a 3 member board. The CCCD board members are appointed by Court Order by a Costilla County District Judge.
